GOD'S CALL IS WITH PURPOSE

For many years, the church has been deceived to believe that the call of God is for self-gratification and promotion. We ask for things that make us compete with the world for recognition, forgetting that God's call is for the fulfilment of His plans here on earth.

A church leader who rejected the possibility of God's call outside of theological ministry within the organised system, was of the opinion that universities 'would not respect academic theological work' if a person's spiritual gift was given recognition simply on the bases of a personal encounter with Christ--[putting it in my words.]

The statement was made about thirty years ago.

Nowhere does the Bible elevate human teaching above God's. If it was more relevant, Paul the apostle would not have failed as a pharisee. His only credential for which he was proud was the cross of Jesus, and his Damascus road encounter.

Jesus said to the people to wait until they had received the Holy Spirit to be empowered to be His witnesses.

The call of God involves supernatural spiritual work that cannot be imparted in a classroom. As believers, we are only instruments through whom the Holy Spirit works. The Holy Spirit gifts, guides and leads.

As we face challenges that most said would not happen, and have been left unprepared, it's a reminder of the reason Jesus promised the Holy Spirit.

It's good to go back to the basics and ask questions of faith that anchors us to the Saviour and His Cross, the Blood that makes us One with Him and the Father.

Without confident faith in the LORD, we are not ready to face the great testing that is coming upon the world. Yes, the LORD will deliver us. But our confidence has to be in Him alone.

While the enemy has been in preparation for hundreds of years, and positioned his people, believers have faced constant setbacks from within.

#Source of Setbacks

The 'children of the world' have been preparing on a global scale, while the church has been passing cups of tea overloaded with sugar.

Most are offended by the call of John 3:3 to be born again. Like the religious leader, most don't want to loose their position.

Majority never heard a preaching on John 10:10, or the existence of demons and their influences on the world, even the need to put on God's full armour. Even though the Bible clearly states they exist. Where they know the Bible to be true, they are afraid of losing respectability.

Therefore, the church has been leaking from within for centuries, because deception has been working from vantage point.

#Work of the Holy Spirit

Jesus made it clear through His disciples, that He was going away but would send the Holy Spirit, and was specific about the work of the Holy Spirit--John 14:15-31.

The world operates craftily, both in the physical and the spiritual realm.

Without the Holy Spirit, believers cannot discern spiritually.

The kingdom of darkness operates through deception using lying spirits to manipulate and deceive. The last ten years has seen an increase in lying spirits. But a believer who is in Christ sees through the eye of the Holy Spirit.

It is the reason a worldly church rejects the work of the Holy Spirit because those making decisions fear exposure, being that they serve two masters.

#Call and Commission: Testimony

Every effort to thwart God's call should make us more determined.

Before I started witnessing, Jesus took me for a walk down a path where I met a gang of demons.

Before the encounter with the children of Satan, He revealed His face, and I saw Him face to face, because He knew that I was ready.

We walked down a path where the children of Satan and I met.

Jesus had stepped back so the encounter was a confrontation with them alone.

As they approached, laughed and mocked me. I ran back to Jesus saying I couldn't proceed. They had blocked my path.

But Jesus urged me to move forward, and if they stepped into my path as they did previously, to respond by informing them 'I was a child of God.'

#Joint-Heir with Christ

Before I could start the ministry, the confrontation was the last hurdle, the giving of power and authority as witness--Acts 1:8.

I had no confidence of my own, but Jesus was confident that I was ready to be used by Him.

Walking towards Satan's children, they again asked, who I was and where I thought I was going. I boldly declared, 'I am a child of God.'

The declaration of who I was in relation to God sent them falling backwards on the ground. I walked past and a new chapter opened. The call and commission was not the work to be done by human flesh, but by the Spirit of God. Seeing the way the world has turned, I pray for their repentance.

In the devotional by Oswald Chambers, My UTMOST for His HIGHEST, the reading for August 8; he writes, "The Son of God is born into me by the direct act of God; then I as a child of God have to exercise the right of a child, the right of being always face to face with my Father."

Spending time or as Jesus said, abiding in Him is how we are refilled and refreshed daily.

#Demons, do they exist?

Most people are blinded by the love of money and positions. The reason Satan uses money and positions as trap. He promotes people perverted and corrupted through immoral lifestyles and idolatry.

Just as the Holy Spirit prepares, Satan also prepares.

God is not rejected in the world because He is bad, but because hearts and minds that are perverted hate God's moral standards, because their ways are evil.

But Jesus calls all to Himself for cleansing.

Genesis 6, says that fallen angels took human wives, and children born to them ruled kingdoms. They were reputed to be strong, and in most cases giants.

Knowledge shows that the world is under destructive influences, those Satan prepared to carry out his mission in the last days.

The Bible is clear that to survive the darkness of our day, we need to abide in Christ, because the spirit against us is the spirit that is against all humanity.

Therefore, the just must live by faith.

We can't live by faith if we don't know the Truth, the Way our Source of Life and Faith.
