For many years, the church has been deceived to believe that the call of God is for self-gratification and promotion. We ask for things that make us compete with the world for recognition, forgetting that God's call is for the fulfilment of His plans here on earth. A church leader who rejected the possibility of God's call outside of theological ministry within the organised system, was of the opinion that universities 'would not respect academic theological work' if a person
