How about bringing etiquette back into fashion?
We seem to be forgetting that the most valuable asset we have is not our body but our minds. And frankly, the way we treat ourselves, shows the state of our minds. Because a person who respects their body is one who is dignified, aware that not everyone should have a window-seat to their body.
#Influencers of Culture
As individuals we owe ourselves and society some respect especially if we are parents, influencers and leaders.
Dressing tastefully and decently, had in the past been how respectable people were identified; their character, personality, state of mind and mental wellbeing. We must not loose that for the sake of posterity.
Respecting ourselves means we dress decently to present ourselves as stable and sound-minded.
It's becoming fashionable for someone to walk down the street with what was once called underwear, outfit that is so revealing that nudity is no longer a private matter.
In whatever we do, we must promote dress culture that respects today's youth as mothers, fathers and leaders of tomorrow.
#Etiquette in Dressing
It would be in our interests for future generations to look back to what we wore with respect. What looks fashionable today, in the near future might cause people to question the minds behind the decisions.
I often remind myself that God's plan when He created us was for us to be free and naked before our heavenly Father. Unfortunately, we were not alone as Satan soon entered the Garden and everything changed.
Only a mind redeemed by Christ through His blood, and filled with His Spirit would not fall for the temptation of the flesh. It calls for discipline.
We still have the same enemy today, that is until God destroys the Destroyer.
#Goodness of the Creator
As humans, what we have that would outlast our youthfulness are dignity, integrity, honesty, self-respect and self-worth--valuable assets.
When all else fades, and the cameras no longer find us appealing, those are qualities that would keep us rounded as mentors and respectable elders in our various communities, because then the love in our hearts would shine through. We'll become brooks where the young can come to drink and be filled.
#Self-Respect Matters
Etiquette is therefore useful in every aspect of life so that when the body no longer speaks for us, our minds would prove us to be people who walk in truth, dignity and integrity.
