There is a common saying that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There's more to beauty than meets the eye, something we have discarded in our modern day for artificial and manipulated 'beauty.'
Many people who actually hate their appearances do not know they are a masterpiece--Ephesians 2:10. God created every individual to look special. No two people look the same.
The problem that most face are spiritual attacks against the mind as the enemy whispers profanities, telling even the most beautiful they are not, making them see everything about them as wrong for the purposes of destroying and controlling them. With the deception planted they seek help with surgery that never gives them satisfaction but drives a desire for perfection that actually causes damage.
#Can human invention make a person better?
With some level of care, it is possible to enhance ones beauty. But it has to be done with care. Desiring to look like a picture you have in mind does not mean that the person you have consulted has the same picture in mind. Therefore, what you think is going to be an inch incision could end up as 2 inches producing a result you never wanted. Trying to correct it then makes it worse.
#Good food, plenty of water, fruits and vegetables plus exercise
Most people don't realize the difference a good posture gives a lady. Just eating a healthy amount of food, exercise and a habit of tucking in the stomach, goes a long way in promoting a good posture.
When the colonial women arrived in West Africa, they were surprised to see how physically fit the women were. As they studied, learned that the daily exercise of positioning a basket or a pot of water hands free on the head, was made possible by a special skill that prevented the basket or pot from falling off their heads, and that in turn enhanced their posture.
Besides, they noticed the curves that added beauty to the structure and gave balance as they moved.
On arriving back in England, they began to work on applying the technics. Special schools were set up in Switzerland where women went to learn etiquette and the art of walking upright to promote beauty by placing books on their heads. Bustier and corset were invented to enhance figures with paddings for the derriere.
They began schools where aristocrats sent their daughters, a kind of finishing schools before marrying them off into rich families.
#Can we make improvements today?
We can help ourselves by using simple technics and being health conscious, making good decisions to eat balanced meals rather than rush into operations that might add pain to a pain-free body.
Just smiling and being kind to people we meet, I have learned can greatly improve our physical appearance and mental wellbeing.
What we must never forget is the fact that wigs and make-ups were meant to be used as tools for disguise and therefore, must be used and applied with care. What does not promote self-esteem or confidence when removed must be used carefully.
Use them, but not as a disguise to hide the real person.
Because a happy countenance heals our hearts and promotes inner beauty, self-worth and satisfaction when we trust in the God who made us.
