No two humans are the same. Even though that is apparent, we still package products as if 'one size fits all.'
As a result, most people don't appreciate the differences when making decisions, to protect their skin from unnecessary damage.
We are witnessing a time like no other, when people are harming themselves with body markings and cosmetic procedures in the name of looking beautiful and having fun.
We forget that as we get older, the body--our faces, weight, skin texture and energy levels change.
The things we do to our bodies will either help it heal itself or destroy its ability to naturally heal.
It does not cost all the money in the world to learn how the body feels, or reacts to the way we treat or handle it.
If only we could invest time and effort each day to monitor those natural reflexes-- the signals that our body sends out to the brain; we would stop illnesses before they consume and damage us.
Health is when the body and mind work together to promote an inner peace that is noticeable by the outward appearance of the skin, eyes, mobility and strength.
By paying attention to our skin texture, for example, we can tell if a product we are using is good for our skin type, and if the food we eat is promoting a healthy wellbeing--growth, strength, height, healthy mind.
#You should know Your Body
Your feeling is something you have control over because its a process that happens inside you, not outside. You'll know what is happening if you listen.
Moreover, you look at your face and body more than anyone else. You know the changes you notice, therefore you can act on something that is developing before it gets out of hand or control.
We all have the ability with our complex minds to make decisions that favour us. No one else can do that for us. Sometimes we allow people to block our ability or we make decisions based on another's appearance with a different skin type or features.
You should be the expert of you, and build the best of you by learning and processing information your heart passes to your brain on how the body is doing.
But, you must be able to process the information wisely applying wisdom gathered over many years--knowledge of self.
#Facial Self-Care
In my twenties, I developed dry skin which was as a result of trying many products to get rid of teenage pimple spots.
Hoping for a good result, visited a beauty clinic, in a top Oxford Street Department store for facial treatment.
But a few days later, I noticed that although they did their best, my skin reacted badly.
It was as I got into my late forties that I made up my mind I would do whatever it took, diet and all to get it right.
#Answer a £1 Hack
Working with vulnerable people, most with sensitive skin types, led to the discovery of Aqueous Cream. I decided to ditch my cosmetic products for Aqueous cream as a cleanser.
The product is made for sensitive skins; soothes, smoothens and protects.
Looking back as I am nearly three-score plus ten years, able to go out without covering my face with heavy makeup, I am convinced I did the right thing.
#Hack I am happy to share
My facial skin is wrinkle free, smooth with a healthy glow.
As I approach seventy, God willing; I will say it was a good decision.
