Does God Heal Today?

What we believe about God is what determines the amount of faith we have. If we feel that God is distant, some old man sitting in the sky and has no knowledge of what is happening in modern times will lack the faith that activates the power that causes things to be fulfilled. And those who address the Holy Spirit as 'it' offend the Spirit and will not receive anything [A church that does not allow the Holy Spirit because of not believing in the death of Jesus and His resurrection as the power that is needed is blinded to the truth--Acts 1:8.]
Hebrews 11:1, [NLT] says, "Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see."
The third verse continues with "By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God's command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen."
To understand and believe whether God heals today or not, we have to spend time reflecting on those two verses of Scripture. What is in our hearts determine how we view God. Do we see Him as One who loves us and is able to care as a loving Father and Shepherd in times of need or do we dismiss Him as not caring and without the power to meet our needs?
Hebrews 11 goes on to mention people in the Scriptures mainly the Prophetic Scriptures who believed and received what they asked God. Abraham the father of faith believed for a son when all was against him. Medically a 99 year old man cannot naturally cause a woman who is equally advanced in age without hope to conceive. But the God in whom all things are possible, the same One who created all things was able to breathe fresh life into their bodies and bring about His promises.
#Do You Believe?
Most have been blinded by world philosophy that says there is no God or if He does exist had nothing to do with creation. They approach with the same mindset expecting to receive, forgetting that we can only receive by faith if we believe. Believing means you do not allow anything to deter or stand in your way as shown in the lives of those in the past or around the world who have been healed.
Those in so called Third world who like many in Jesus' day had no other means of receiving help, but in believing and seeking help from Jesus received.
One example was the woman with the issue of blood [Mark 5: 24-34] who said, if she could just touch Him, she would be healed after spending all she had for human doctors but received no healing. Others approached with hope of deliverance from demonic oppression for their loved ones knowing He alone had the power to heal [Mark 9:14-29]. They were not disappointed.
#What did these people have in common?
They believed in the power of God to give what they were seeking, healing. Even where they never saw it done to another, they believed that God was able to do more than we could imagine or expect--Ephesians 3:20. One who is not limited in power or ability, not restricted by time or distance.
Unfortunately, a deliberate plan of deception has left many viewing God in the light of human limitations and even as one without the abilities science possesses. Such a view of God keeps their prayers unanswered as it blasphemes God's name. God does not respond where people do not honour or give Him glory.
#Divine Healing
It was about 1995 that after praying and seeking God for the pain I suffered with sleepless nights, refusing to give up that God sent His angel to heal the hip. That night after asking desperately for healing, reminded Him of the promise He made to me with tears. The LORD sent an angel who walked into my bedroom, opened a stretcher by my bed, and produced a limb. He removed the painful limb, after gently picking me off the bed unto the stretcher for the operation. When finished lifted me off the stretcher and back on the bed.
Today, I celebrate thirty years since this miraculous divine encounter and healing and testify that our God is the same, yesterday, today and forever.
Don't allow your heart or human philosophy block your mind from receiving what God has for you or is able to do.
He cares and wants all to bring their troubles to Him.
His burden is easy and His yoke is light, no side effects or hidden agenda. He will not give us more than we can handle for His unfailing love endures for ever.
