God's best work of creation was not the animals, the sky or the planets He created.
It was the humans that He made in His image to be part of His Family.
In Genesis 2:18-23, we are given an account of how God created man in the Garden of Eden. He then saw that it was not good for man to be alone, so He formed all kinds of animals and took them to the man, but none formed a suitable partner.
The Fatherly heart of God is seen in His desire to provide what would make His son Adam happy, as he felt alone. All the animals God lovingly created and took to him did not fill the empty longings in his heart.
God then thought of a more suitable companion, one that looked like Adam and would fill the hollowness in his heart [Only Christ can fill the emptiness in our hearts].
The Bible says, God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep. Then He took out one of Adam's ribs [interestingly God did not take two ribs, or create the woman afresh as He did Adam], closed the opening and made a woman.
Adam woke up to find some beautiful eyes staring down at him. Unlike the animals his Father gave him, the new one looked more like him, and they stood side by side, shoulder to shoulder, and complemented one another. This one was different, he thought and beautiful to behold.
Adam exclaimed, "At last! This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called 'Woman.'"
What an exiting moment it was when Adam first led his eyes on the woman. And because she was the mother of all living, she was named Eve.
IF ONLY the events that followed did not happen, they would have lived happily ever after. But the joy was short-lived as the enemy watched from a distance, unhappy with what he saw, contemplating his next move.
He thought, these new comers would take God's attention and inherit what he thought he would claim for himself. As he watched, bitterness and envy filled his heart and he withdrew to plot.
With a grin he moved forward and targeted the weakest link. He knew if he succeeded in deceiving the woman, the man would fall easily. He prepared the trap.
Eve thinking the snake was a friendly neighbour smiled, and with that Satan's confidence grew. He dropped the first line. Not wanting 'No' for an answer, rephrased his words. "Did God really say?" She was caught in the trap. It tasted good. She took some and gave to Adam who also was deceived. The idea that their eyes would be opened and they would gain more knowledge was attractive.
But from there entered all the suffering, death, sickness and evil perversions, consequences of rebellion. Instead of blessings, curse was pronounced. The Father's plan had been to bless his son, instead it was rebellion, and the wages of sin is death--Romans 6:23.
But God loved the people He created. His anger was against the Enemy that caused the rebellion. So He covered their nakedness and planned a day when their Deliverer would Redeem them from death--John 3:16.
Thousands of years later, the Redeemer walked the streets of Jerusalem. The Enemy, Satan drummed up false charges, persecuted and killed Him. But what he did not know was that killing Him was part of God's plan [The Giver of life could not be killed].
By dying He would resurrect and give His life to those who because of sin died, and lost their relationship with God. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is everlasting life through Jesus Christ our LORD ---.Romans 6:23.
For JESUS is the Way, the Truth and the Life.[John 14:6]. He rose victorious from the grave and made atonement for our sins.
Jesus died to destroy the curse and restore what was lost in the Garden.
Therefore, Christ is the only One able to satisfy the worlds needs.
We must trust Him for Eternal life and our Salvation.
